Here are couple of stuff I've been working on and off the past couple weeks during lunch and after hours. I have been bouncing back and forth between the two but trying to get them finished soon.
Thought I'd toss some of my old sketchlist work up here... funny how looking through it after not seeing it for awhile how little of it seems as good as your remember - I guess that means you're improving a little? Or just that you realize where you need work more? Either way, I think it's actually a good thing.
This is a new one, actually. I think every year I'm giving this friend of mine a new chapter. The text ended up a little dark, unfortunately. This is the one from last year, the first one. I prefer it to the new one, actually.
I need to work faster so I can finish a painting before I get bored. I was inspired by this mouse pad with art by Wang Wei, an illustrator for Blizzard. I'm really enjoying this one.
Finished! I think I like doing this insane linework stuff. I used to do this kind of work a lot back in college, but it was very time consuming, and not very practical as "concept art portfolio" work, but now that I have a job, maybe I should start doin this kind of stuff as personal work more often.
Also, I am going to start doing all of my concept art in finger-paints... or as mobiles.
Sweet. Thanks for setting this up Kenji. Here is a work in progress. As usual, starting from random marks and letting things kind of evolve into some character.
Hello everyone, here are couple of pieces I've been trying to work on during my spare time. I will update this until I finish them sometime this week. Look forward to everyone's contribution and very excited to see what everyone cooks up outside of work. It's refreshing to see different styles and various types of work. Cheers! -Kenji
WOO-HOO! I am the first Big Huge artist to post on our Blog! Thanks to Kenji Bliss for getting this up and running.
We now have a place to show off stuff that we are working on in our spare time/precious moments inbetween milestones.
I will start with some sketches and some works in progress. I usually like to start new pieces by pulling quick sketches out of my sketchbook, but I always have a hard time deciding which ones to work on, so I usually have several pieces in various states of finish at any given time. Here are some things I am working on right now, and maybe someone can help me decide what to focus on... haha.
