tales

For my thesis I've been illustrating short stories and folk lore from around the world. These are the ones done in water color. I will try and get better quality photos soon.

This one is an Icelandic fairy tale called The Father of Eighteen Elves, which is a story about changelings.


This next one is a work in progress. It's from a Russian fairy tale called The Water Snake.

Yeah, I love these. The Father of Eighteen Elves one is just amazing. You've got a real touch for watercolor.

I was thinking about the second WIP piece over the last few days. You should check out Frederick Hart's tympanums from the National Cathedral; they're really amazing examples of bodies writhing and entwined together.
