I'm like Lucas and Spielberg the way I keep re-doing my oldies! But they're considered masters at what they do, and I'm not where I wanna be yet. Well, at least in my case I think there's a significant step up from before. To think, less than 6 months ago I was satisfied with leaving this image here
Silly me. Thanks to everyone who helped me out on this one. Invaluble.
Had some free time between school and work to draw a quick-ish lady. Was watching a lot of Heroes and playing a lot of Mirror's Edge, which probably inspired the style of this image~
ps: My name is Helen. I'm a new art intern, and this is my first post!
I finished this one up last night. The bottom one is the final one; the two above are the two previous nights' work. I learn a lot by looking at where I've come from in a piece (oftentimes I realize I've gone too far) so I put this together to compare them. It's been too long since I've touched canvas, but it felt really good. I don't think I'll ever get tired of experimenting with color and brushwork, or learn enough where I think I don't have something to new to experience from every inch of a piece.
Here is a rework of an oldie, im pretty glad i revised it. I think works a lot better now in several ways, and i got to add a lizard! Lizards are just sweet. Thanks for lookin'.
I started messing around with an image for my Don Quixote Steampunk image. It's pretty rough as I try to figure out what to do next. And I just started playing Dead Space so this is probably going to move along slowly.
Hey, I'm an intern at BHG and this'll be my first post here. It's finals week at MICA, so I'm super-busy, and here's one thing I'm working on right now. I drew this little Jackalope guy for my 3D animation final and now I'm modeling him in Max.
Hey everyone, this'll be my first post to the Big Huge Blog, so I thought I'd post something that I've been tinkering on for way too long. Its time to put this one to rest.
Did this drawing of Jess a bit ago. I told her she could play video games while I drew her. I'm not doing that again. She squirms and makes faces.
I started an oil painting last night, a larger (18" x 36") version of the completed painting just below (6" x 12"). I just did the underpainting last night, and still have a long way to go, but it felt really good to be painting.
When I was starting to learn Zbrush a couple of weeks ago I grabbed a sphere and played around with it until I came up with this. I was just goofing around for a little bit, and it has any number of problems with it, but it was fun and I'll look back someday remembering this as one of the first things I did in the program.
Tried some brush and walnut ink out at the last life drawing session. It was fun - I enjoyed the fluidity of it, and that I had to be loose but also address mistakes. The last one I just doodled on some. That thing wasn't in the room with us.
